| The picturesque tourist resort of Bocca di Valle is situated neraby at the mouth of a deep gorge. It is noted for the presence of a war memorial in honour of Abruzzo's military fallen, while the grotto, hollowed out in 1923, houses the remains of Lieutenant Andrea Bafile, who was killed in the First World War. Bocca di Valle is the starting point for numerous excursions in the Majella National Park, including the panoramic itinerary that enables visitors to reach the spectacular waterfall of San Giovanni. |
