Description:
When Emperor Joseph II issued the Decree of Tolerance on October 13, 1781 the population of the Gegendtal Valley decided to erect a Protestant church in a central location. The first church was wooden, but as early as in 1787 a stonewall building was erected thanks to the enthusiasm and active help of the parish counselor, and it has been preserved up to the present day. The community of Feld am See was the first in Carinthia to build a tower in April 1850. But when it was almost finished the tower collapsed without any visible reason.
